roman holiday

Princess Anne Micro Mini

“Roman Holiday” collection was inspired by romantic comedy under the same tile. Touching motion picture with lost in Rome princess Anne portraited by Audrey Hepburn. Woman who trough her holiday adventuress, is trying to figure out herself in the world.

“Roman Holiday” became an umbrella under which most of Audrey Hepburn characters and haute couture collaborations with Hubert de Givenchy are expressed through out the collection. I have extended the inspiration to other strong females and my personal homage to other couturiers like Cristobal Balenciaga, Christian Dior and Yves Saint Laurent.

story behind the dress

inspiration

This collection was originally founded by my little brother who passed away suddenly at age 33 during pandemic. He left some money behind that I inherited as the last surviving sibling (my sister passed away to cancer about a decade before at age 33 also).

I just wanted to honor my sibling’s life that they could have. I got myself into creative mode as part of my grieving process. It happened organically. I just kept thinking of life and its meaning, I thought about struggle and happiness. Throughout weeks, months that followed the motif that was recurring was the cosmic energy of life, the pranayama depicted by ancient ancestors as Tree of Life. The sacred, cosmic knowledge human try to grasp explaining humans and Earth, life and death.  The mystery of the mustard seed carrying a potential to grow into a huge thriving tree.

My sister Anete was a true romantic, always wearing my mother’s wedding veil with tiara pretending to be a princess. As the oldest child I had no privilege to fantasize, I had to take care of things. I had to make sure my siblings were fed and safe. I was an adult who was mastering the art of survival since conception.

With that heritage, I decided to create a dream collection, combining my sister’s romantic nature and my pragmatic and logical, structured aesthetics. I decided to use simple yet profound silhouettes to canvas the blossoming Tree of Life.

TREE OF LIFE

We have built our trees branches by hand molded tubes in 100% silk organza, then hand stitched with invisible seams. They may come in color upon request.

Sakura Blossoms are made with hand crafted flowers by an artist in Rome in 100% Bombay silk. Then they are composed on the tree and hand beaded with Japanese glass beads and gemstones. WE use crystals only sporadically to add more sparkles.

The gemstones we have used on our samples are:

  • Morganite: supports heart chakra and energy of
    romance
  • Labradorite that supports grounding and
    intuition
  • Fresh water pearls that promote wisdom

*** Gemstones might be customized to each bride personal choice and budget such us:

  • BALANCE/ Solar Plexus chakra: Yellow Topaz, Yellow Saphire, Citrine, Lemon quarts
  • CLARITY/Crown chakra: Diamond, Clear Zircon, Rock Crystal for clarity
  • CREATIVITY & FERTILITY/Sacral chakra: Orange Saphire, Carnelian, Orange Coral for fertility, creativity and bounty
  • GROUNDING/Root Chakra: Garnet, Red Coral, Smoky Quarts for grounding
  • INTUITION/Third Eye chakra: Labradorite, London Topaz, Blue Saphire
  • LOVE – Heart chakra: Tourmaline, Green amethyst, Rose quarts and Kunzite that also is a choice for heart chakra
  • SELF EXPRESSION/Throat chakra Blue Aquamarine, Labradorite, Blue Topaz,
  • SELF REALISATION/Crown Chakra: Purple Amethyst

PRINCESS ANNE

THE VERY FIRST:

Princess Anne Micro Mini was the very first dress we have made. I wanted to create a perfect frame for each female. NO distractions from plunging necklines and super exposed torso. The bateau neckline is a French classic, a perfect base that I tried to preserve with no extra seams leaving open plateau for corsage of Tree of Life branches. I wanted them to be mirrored at the skirt, like a whipping willow glancing at herself at the pond of a Polish park.

For the Princess Anne I have created a modern version of shorten ballgown to micro mini. (It took 17 tries to get the correct shape of flattering yet extended  hips  that would showcase a sliming waistline. In this dress I hope to preserve the playfulness of the inner child my romantic sister Aneta. The perfection of bubble skirt with the the mirrored corsage of Tree of Life is my take on Alice Through the Looking-Glass.

This shape is perfect for most body types if bride is daring to carry on the mini dress. It extenuates the waistline and covers bigger hips.

The hand pick stitching over seams brings the tailoring touch.

BARONESS CAROLINE

The Trio gown is a long version of a conversational piece to compliment playful Princess Anne Micro Mini. I started with an elongated skirt. I wanted to preserve exaggerated, architectural hip – honoring the early depictions of Venus with potent hip cradles, slimming it down at the bottom into a tulip shape. The perfection of proportions was crucial. I wanted to avoid overly theatrical shape; and it took a few trials before I landed on balanced shape.

For this gown I have desided to expose shoulders, yet keeping high neckline corset. The motif of Tree of Life was a must, yet the skirt branches turned into roots. One strong root that would carry new couple into a thriving union.

The hand pick stitching over seams brings the tailoring touch.

This gown is a subtle, yet comfortable choice for athletic built women, as much as the straight or voluptuous.

Baroness Caroline is a combination of 3 separate pieces:

  • The Corset,
  • Audrey Long Skirt and
  • Princess Anne Micro Mini

AUDREY LACE GOWN

The elevated version of Baroness with Alencon lace applique and opera lace sleeves. Corset is embalished with soleil rays of sun drape, over which the Bloosomig Cherry Tree is thriving. Skirt side panels are carefully crafted with lace scaloop edge mirrored at each side panel.

The long veil and Opera, beaded sleeves provide Ultra elegance and poise for every bride that wished to state her presence.

The hand pick stitching over seams brings the tailoring touch.

HOLLY BOW GOWN

Created as a simple, plain gown combing our bateau neckline top with Audrey skirt, embellished only by structured Organza bow sitting at the bottom of the plunging back V-neck. The dramatic detachable train adds more splendor to a simpler choice. This Gown is a great option for a gracious female, more reserved and maybe even shy, that is maybe not comfortable with elaborate embellishments. Made in lux Silk-Wool Mikado, is a statement piece that makes you feel great in your own skin. The hand pick stitching over seams brings the tailoring touch.

cristobal ballGOWN

Although the last (that’s why we don’t have a studio photograph) to be created it takes much more well-defined placement in the collection. This is a swoosh ankle length ballgown bringing back elegance of 1950s New Look. 14 meters skirt hem is not an accident, and it was the hardest to create. WE struggled with proportions of the corset peplum and fullness of the skirt. I wanted to compliment super structured corset with high hip peplum with more frivolous, huge volume skirt. The weight of the skirt was a concern; I wanted to preserve its lightness without using common synthetic tulles.

It feels fabulous on the body, I am personally not a dress-wearer, but when I put on this gown, my inner light just went on.

It is an amazing feeling, especially with the light bounce this skirt offers. I kept the Tree of Life as a must-have motif throughout the corset and peplum and left the skirt free to be itself. The hand pick stitching over seams brings the tailoring touch.

This gown has a gracious balance between poise and playfulness. Can be worn with our elbow veil  and short gloves.

Great choice for Ladies with heavy bottoms body shapes.

SECOND SKIN COMFORT FIT

This is our second-skin gown, fully molded from French Alencon lace (82% cotton mix) with yummy stretch silk charmeuse lining (95% silk, 5% elastane). The neckline follows Princess Anne top but is a soft bodycon version. We preserved square open back and extend bodice joined seam with invisible waistline to the trumpet molded skirt with dramatic 1930’s train. This dress is the embodiment of ever rebellious and unapologetic movie star Mae West who entered the golden screen to prove she would stay to rule the golden screen, and not just as an ornament; with Her vivacious presence of a full-figured women, with a sharp tongue to match it. She was The Boss, dragged through court for her ambiguous humor

She was truly the embodiment of joie de vivre.

But leaving behind the inspiration I think we took this gown further, creating super soft, comfortable and elegant dress with absolute splendor of Tree of Life integrated through out the front.

This gown is great for huge personality as much as a more subdue one. The invisible, dropped waist seam creates comfort with no restrictions.

For women with straighter body shape, we recommend wearing our bow belt with detachable train. The accented waist is always a great look.

This Cocktail option is more relaxed and playful yet maintaining semi-structured top with tree of life Motif. Great for all body types as the full skirt creates an illusion of the small waist for those who need it; and covers up heavy bottoms for those who want to look lighter.

Jean Harlow gown

DRAMATIC BOMBSHELL LOOK

Super dramatic mermaid skirt topped with halter, cowl armhole draped bodice. Jean Harlow was the original platinum blond bombshell. Her meteoric rise to fame was supported by audience and critics alike. She entered the stardom with a following line: “Would you be shocked if I put on something more comfortable?”

She mastered not only the bombshell looks but also a comedic talent. Her super short life (passed at 26) still didn’t erase her from the pantheon of stars.

I am honoring her brief yet super impactful life with a gown that is perfect for bombshell body type and personality. The double bow and waist sash contrast and wire woven gemstones jewelry by Andrea Gutierrez is my invitation to pick a color that would support each bride chakra’s resonance.

TUXEDO SUIT

Silk Suit with Tree of life branches in black contrast.

When in 1933 the French law prohibited women to wear trousers, Marlena Dietrich stepped down onto Parisian train station wearing SUIT.

The suit has been my personal choice of attire for years and its still to this day.

I have always felt safe and ready in a suit. Free to run if I had to.

This is my personal homage to great Yves Saint Laurent that is my personal hero. Propagator of freedom of expression for women and creator of smoking suit for women which became my staple look. The very first outfit I ever made was a suit, I was only 13 years old with no training, nor sewing machine. At that time, I had no idea who YSL was in 1980s behind Iron Courtin. I just channeled the look, as I channeled my tailoring skills. I wish I had saved this very first suit that I wore until my university years.
